Things I Noticed, February 3, 2009

Filed under: Entertainment — CPav @ 5:42 pm

Today is February 3, 2009, and is sponsored by the word “unkard”.

Today is the day that Alexander Selkirk, the man on whom Robinson Crusoe was based, was rescued after 5 years on a deserted island.  It’s also the 50th anniversary of “the day the music died”, immortalized in the Don McLean song “American Pie”.

I didn’t see any links to pass on, but am finding it interesting how many of these folks that President Obama wants to be in his cabinet are having trouble paying their taxes.  I don’t think for a minute that it’s a Democrat-only phenomenon, but I’m wondering if maybe I’m doing something wrong.  I mean, if it’s that easy for them to not pay their taxes properly, then maybe I should be trying harder not to pay mine.  Of course, that would be wrong, and since I’m not a hooked-up Washington politician, chances are I’d get caught and punished sometime before I was called to testify before Congress.  Ah, well.

More tomorrow.
