United States of Tara Update

Earlier this week, I mentioned a free screening of The United States of Tara, Showtime’s new, highly pedigreed series about a woman with MPD. In that note, I mentioned that it was a free screening, but did not specify that the screening was of the first two episodes of the series, and that there will be free refreshments.

If you don’t want to see the episodes at the theater, Showtime is offering the first episode for viewing online prior to the premiere of the show next Sunday.

Boxing Day Wows and Woes

Filed under: General — CPav @ 11:15 pm

We here at PavCo Multimedia Synergistics hope you and yours had a Merry Christmas and a bountiful Boxing Day. Mrs. PavCo found a couple of great bargains pre-1 p.m. at Macy’s (a $600 comforter set for $99 and a bunch of oversized bath towels for $5), and PavCo Jr. #1 ransacked the local GameStop to supplement the 50 billion games we got for the new XBox 360, ensuring that PavCo Sr. will never get to play his Lego Batman game.

Unfortunately, I spent $30 on a HDMi cable to connect the 360 to the HDTV, without checking to see if the HDTV had a HDMi jack (Best Buy return zone here we come!) and discovered that Paul Simon’s “Lyrics” book is exactly that, and nothing more. No insight into what was going on when the lyrics were written, just the lyrics themselves. I did get a really neat Indiana Jones replica journal (to go with the DC Comics “museum in a box” that I got for Christmas), and some tasty Ghiardelli limited-edition chocolates for half price, so that helped mitigate the disappointment a bit.
